About the Hamlet of Stoke

The Hartland Penninsula is an area of outstanding natural beauty located on the Atlantic coastline with tumbling waterfalls ancient bridleways , sheltered footpaths and adjoining open moors, some of the best scenery North Devon can offer.

 

Surrounded by countryside and a view to the wonderful Abbey Bay,

1 Coastguard Cottages has the scenic and challenging South West Coastal Path running past its gates leading down to Abbey Beach a favourite spot for film production companies and walkers wanting spectacular views. From the bottom of the steep slopes of 1 Coastguard Cottages gardens you can walk alongside the Abbey River and footpath to Blackpool Mill.

 

Across the Warren (field) you can see the Pleasure House Folly, believed to be built in the 17th Century.
